Ways to nurture hearts …
Life is filled with dynamic interactions. The web of events to build relations with the child who you are raising, nurturing, and teaching are spawned by the moments of the day. Comics are a way to be specific and concise to provide strategies to nurture hearts to promote healthy living. Healthy living is promoting morals and values to enable one to be successful.
Healthy living is taking care of your body throughout the day. Teaching children the values of healthy eating, identifying the item that they are choosing to eat along with the ingredients that nourish their bodies will prevent childhood obesity.
According to a report by the Milk Processor Education Program, “What America’s Missing: A 2011 Report on the Nation’s Nutrient Gap,” 9 out of 10 Americans are missing out on key nutrients. The daily recommendations for milk intake is three 8-ounce servings of lowfat milk or milk products per day (or 2 servings for children ages 8 and younger).
To elaborate with teens – Mom: “Our bodies need a continuous supply of vitamin C because when we eat it, it passes through within a couple of hours. I saw that you ate a banana for breakfast and now you are eating an apple for lunch. This means that you keep eating foods that contain appropriate nutrients to nourish your body continuously. I am proud that you are taking the action to stay healthy.”
Child thinking: My mom sees what I am eating and she is telling me that she is proud of my choices. I love my mom for educating me on how I can eat.”
